Three energy boosting smoothies after a good bounce!

I love a good workout, and I aim to get some form of exercise in daily. With a business schedule and a family to look after, it’s not always easy to find a lot of time for a workout. That’s where I love having my Springfree trampoline in the backyard.

It’s such an easy way to fit in a quick yet effective workout - with or without the kids! There are so many health benefits that come from bouncing, not to mention it will leave you feeling energised and uplifted. Jumping is low impact, while giving you a full body, cardiovascular workout - 10 minutes of jumping is more beneficial than 30 minutes of running! So, with a trampoline, I know there’s now no excuse not to get out for a quick blast of exercise, fresh air and feel good endorphins.

As you know, to ensure that you recover well and replenish depleted energy, what you eat after exercise is super important.

This is where I love smoothies. They are quick and easy to put together, you can take it on the go with you, and they are full of good stuff to leave you feeling awesome after exercise. All you need is a blender and your choice of healthy ingredients. You’ll need a base, such as water, milk or yogurt, but otherwise there are very few limits to what you can add in to your smoothies. They are such a good way to add immunity- and energy-boosting nutrients that will help keep you on track towards your health and fitness goals.

Here are three of my favourites:

Chocolate health shake - This is a thick and creamy shake that is packed with goodness. All the deliciousness of chocolate, without the guilt!

Red velvet smoothie - There are loads of cake recipes which have chocolate and beetroot and they work well, so why not try the same in a smoothie. This is so tasty and toddler approved too, my little boy loved it.

Carrot cake smoothie - Another cake flavour favourite, so if you’re feeling like a treat, here is a healthier, more nourishing version!

Don’t be afraid to mix up the ingredients with healthy additions to create your own favourite blends. Smoothies are good way to get some of your 5+ a day intake in, and are a good way to stop ripe fruit from going to waste!
