9 Common Myths About Springfree Trampolines

Let’s now get to the list! Here are 9 debunkable myths about Springfree Trampolines:

1. Myth: Springfree Trampolines = Falling Injuries.

By far one of the most frequent misconceptions about Springfree Trampolines is their safety, which can include concerns about falling injuries.

According to the study “Effectiveness of Pads and Enclosures as Safety Interventions on Consumer Trampolines,” falling injuries are the most serious cause of injury on trampolines. Furthermore, around 20% of backyard trampolines are from children falling off, according to Springfree’s internal research conducted with Zeitgeist Research.

There’s arguably nothing more important to consider than your child’s safety when buying a trampoline, and Dr. Keith Alexander, the inventor of the Springfree Trampoline took this fully into account when designing the product.

To prevent falling injuries, Springfree Trampolines are designed with an elastic net system and high-tech composite roads that cushion the jumper whenever they fall on the sides. See the image below for a visual demonstration:

DEBUNKED: Springfree Trampolines are equipped with many safety features, such as a flexible net and composite rods under the mat, which help to withstand the weight of jumpers and significantly decrease the chances of getting hurt from falling off the trampoline.

2. Myth: Springfree Trampolines Fall Apart Easily.

Another concern that has come up regarding Springfree Trampolines is their durability and whether they can be trusted to last.

Here are some of the main reasons why Springfree Trampolines are built to sustain for the long run:

  • The patented flexible mat rods on a Springfree Trampoline are made from an advanced composite material that is three times the strength of steel.

  • The patented net doesn’t fray or run and is resistant to tearing.

  • Springfree Trampolines are tested up to 5,000 hours and can hold up to about 700kg (1,500 lbs)

  • The trampolines’ steel frame includes triple-layer rust protection, which means it won’t flake or peel.

  • A 10-year warranty is offered on the entire trampoline, proving confidence in the product’s durability.

DEBUNKED: These factors, along with the fact that every mat and net is individually tested before being packaged, prove that Springfree Trampolines are built to serve your family for the long haul.

3. Myth: You Can Only Use Springfree Trampolines in Summer.

“Why would I spend all this money on a trampoline when I can only use it when it’s warm outside?”

This common sentiment brings us to our next myth: Springfree Trampolines can only be used in the summer.

Because Springfree Trampolines are designed with an ultraviolet (UV) stabilized mat and net rods, along with a galvanized and powder-coated steel frame, they are built to weather harsh conditions, such as heavy rain, ice or snow.

See the graphic below for an example of a Springfree Trampoline in the winter:

DEBUNKED: Due to UV-resistant material and a sturdy frame, Springfree Trampolines are designed to be used no matter the season.

4. Myth: Springfree Trampolines Are Just for Kids.

While trampolines are used predominantly by kids, Springfree Trampolines are built to be used by both children and adults within the stated weight capacities.

In fact, trampoline jumping is an unheralded way to get a good workout in. Because it’s cushioned and low impact, it can serve as a solid choice for a workout, especially for those that don’t want to put too much stress on their joints.

DEBUNKED: Springfree Trampolines were constructed to be used by people of all ages and can serve as a medium for adults that want a more fun but effective workout.

5. Myth: Springfree Trampolines Are Too Dangerous to Bounce on.

Another myth that ties into safety is the notion that Springfree Trampolines are too dangerous to bounce on.

As mentioned previously, Springfree Trampolines are equipped with features like composite rods that lie beneath the surface and a flexible net system. These features, and others, contribute to how the design of the Springfree Trampoline eliminates 90% of product-related injuries.

DEBUNKED: Springfree Trampolines were created to be the world’s safest trampoline and their vast array of features helps eliminate almost all trampoline-related injuries.

6. Myth: The Kids Will Use the Trampoline Once and Then Get Bored of it.

If you’re a parent, there is understandable hesitancy in buying an expensive product that you’re not 100% sure your kid will use consistently.

Because of the additional trampoline accessories you can include, such as the FlexrHoop, or Sunshade, a Springfree Trampoline can expand into a multidimensional hub for entertainment beyond just jumping.

There are also various other activities, like bouncing contests, dance routines and high-flying photo shoots that can add to the appeal of the trampoline for your kid. Read through our blog on the 50 ways you can use your Springfree Trampoline to learn more about the unique ways you can utilize the product.

DEBUNKED: The number of activities you can do on a Springfree Trampoline combined with the accessories you can include alleviates the thought that your kid will get bored of it quickly.

7. Myth: My Backyard Is Too Small for a Trampoline.

A common concern among people looking into a Springfree Trampoline is that they might not have a backyard that can accommodate the trampoline’s size.

While Springfree Trampolines aren’t small, there are multiple options you will have to choose from if you have a more condensed backyard.

For instance, Springfree Trampolines come in various sizes, ranging from 2.4M trampolines to 4M in diameter. The smallest trampoline needs a 3.4M x 3.4M space to properly set up while the largest trampoline requires a 5M x 5M space. Read through our FAQ section to learn more about Springfree Trampoline sizes.

DEBUNKED: While you will need to make sure you can adequately fit a Springfree Trampoline in your backyard, there are multiple sizes you can choose from, including smaller ones that can fit in compacted backyards.

8. Myth: Springfree Trampolines Aren’t Safety Tested.

Another major myth around Springfree Trampolines revolves around their safety testing and standards.

Springfree Trampolines aim to meet the highest safety standards, and this is shown through their rigorous testing of products (tested to 3 million jumps, which translates to 5,000+ hours) and the various awards the company has received for its efforts. This includes the 2023 PTPA (Parent Tested Parent Approved) Top Product Award, where winners are chosen based on factors such as product functionality, value, innovation and dependability.

DEBUNKED: Springfree Trampolines are tested for thousands of hours before hitting the market and have won multiple awards, in part, for their safety standards.

9. Myth: Springfree Trampolines Will Wear Out and Lose Their Bounce.

It’s true that traditional trampolines can eventually wear out and lose their bounce if not properly maintained.

But since Springfree Trampolines are made from an advanced composite material that’s significantly stronger than steel and are built to withstand millions of jump cycles, they are much less susceptible to general wear and tear than traditional, spring-based trampolines

DEBUNKED: Because Springfree Trampolines are made from composite material stronger than steel and are constructed to endure millions of jump cycles, they will not deteriorate assuming basic trampoline sustainability practices are followed.
